WALKING THE 8

Below, you’ll find a recording about on Walking the 8 - a pan-cultural, meditative, embodiment and seership practice and the basis for much of the work in the Liminal Arts. The recording contains both wisdom on this practice as well as instructions on how to practice.

Before listening, it is suggested you clear your space for this movement practice and obtain two sturdy objects that are larger than a dandelion and smaller than a half dozen eggs. People often use stones, but these objects can be anything. It is recommended to listen to the recording in a meditative state - you might like to light a candle and sit, stand or lay down with your eyes closed as you listen.

It is also recommended that you wear clothing that allows for ease of movement and have bare feet if you are somewhere that you can do so. It is suggested that you walk for 11-20 minutes at a time, keep your eyes on the horizon as you’re able and apply conscious breathing as you go. You can walk in silence or work with to music or a repetitive sound such as a drum or tanging quoit to aide in helping you reach theta state. (reach out if you’d like suggestions for sounds and music to work with)

This walk is one of the most basic and advanced practices of this work. Please reach out with any questions on how to further work with the Walk of 8, also know as the Lemniscatic Walk or the Walk of Infinity.
